This Quickboost (Aires) set in 1:48 scale represents a ground cart for carrying and handling an external, that is jettisonable, fuel tank on German aircraft of the Second World War. It is not a model of the airplane but a diorama accessory that will liven up an airfield scene and round out finished models of fighters and fighter-bombers.
External, jettisonable tanks lengthened the range of aircraft, and on the ground they were handled with the help of simple carts. This ground equipment was an ordinary part of operations on field as well as permanent Luftwaffe airfields and is a rewarding feature of dioramas of military equipment.
Wash the parts free of mold release residue, separate them from the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways while sanding. The cart comes into its own once it is painted and weathered with washes and pigments, which will suggest dust, mud and traces of use.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a resin set. The external tank, the model of the airplane, the glue and the paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
