Replacement exhaust nozzles in the closed position for a model of the Grumman F-14A Tomcat in 1:48 scale. They replace the simplified parts from the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
Seen from behind, the rear of an F-14 is made up mainly of a pair of exhaust nozzles, and the viewer has them in full view. In kits they tend to be simplified: the edge of the petals is thick, because injection molding does not allow a sharp edge, and the inside is merely a smooth tube. The replacement parts deal with this shortcoming, as they have an intricate interior and an edge of a thickness that matches the scale.
The nozzles are made in the closed position, that is with the petals drawn in. On the real machine the position of the nozzles changes with the engine setting, and it is therefore worth comparing it against a picture of the machine you are building. The range also holds a variant with open nozzles, so the choice is yours and depends on the situation in which you want to build the model. The set is tied to both the type and the scale, that is to models of the F-14A in 1:48 scale.
The parts are not polystyrene and ordinary modeling cement does not hold on them, so make the joint with cyanoacrylate glue. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder off carefully, so as not to take anything off the thin edge. Dry-fit the seating first and even out any slack by sanding the recess, not the part. Wash and degrease the surface before painting. The particular procedure is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
