An accessory and correction set intended for models of the British Hawker Hunter jet fighter in the F.6A and FGA.9 versions in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but a replacement for the landing flaps, which thanks to the set can be shown lowered together with their internal structure. The plastic parts in kits tend to be simplified in this area, because an injection mold cannot draw out fine ribbing and internal recesses. The composition of the package and the material of the individual parts are stated on the box of the set.
The Hawker Hunter was a British single-engine jet fighter of the 1950s that served for a very long time and in many countries. The FGA.9 version arose from a modification for attacks on ground targets: it received armament and equipment for carrying stores under the wing, and changes around the flaps went with it, because larger drop tanks were added underneath. The designation F.6A was carried by machines brought up to a standard close to this attack version. Lowered flaps are among the things most visible on a Hunter on the ground, and their interiors therefore markedly change the overall impression of a model.
First wash the resin parts with warm soapy water so that the mold release agent disappears from the surface, otherwise the paint will not hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw, not with cutters, and it is better to sand them dry with respiratory protection. Try the recess in the wing dry first and adjust the fit on the plastic, not on the resin. Paint the inner faces of the flaps and the beds in the wing and pick them out with a wash before fitting; afterwards you will not reach them with a brush. They are bonded with super glue, and on larger areas rather with the gel type, which leaves time to set the angle of the lowered flap.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
