Hurricane Mk.I LööK 1:48 is a finished Eduard instrument panel for models of the British fighter. The relief form does away with hand-painting the dials.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a finished instrument panel in 1:48 scale from the LööK range by the Czech manufacturer Eduard, not a kit. The panel is fitted into the cockpit of a Hawker Hurricane Mk.I model in place of the original plastic part. It comes in three-dimensional relief and a finished color scheme, so hand-painting the dials and their bezels is done away with. Check how many layers the set has and what else is in the package against the details given on the box.
The Hawker Hurricane Mk.I was a British fighter monoplane with the liquid-cooled Rolls-Royce Merlin V12. Unlike the all-metal designs of its day it stood on a welded tubular frame, the rear part of which carried fabric covering — which is exactly why it could be repaired quickly right at the airfield. In the Battle of Britain it made up the more numerous part of the fighter squadrons and claimed a considerable share of the victories.
Try the part dry first. Depending on the kit, the original plastic panel usually has to be thinned down or removed, so that the new panel sits at the right depth and does not intrude into the canopy. Glue it spot by spot with cyanoacrylate or with glue for photo-etched parts, not with solvent cement for plastic. Do not paint over the surface of the panel. A dark wash on the surrounding plastic parts and gentle drybrushing of the edges will help the richness of the cockpit.
