1:48 Hurricane Mk.IIb: stencils for spraying the national insignia and additional markings. The insignia lies directly in the paint, so no glossy carrier film is left behind. Intended for the Arma Hobby kit.

A set of stencils for the national insignia and additional markings of the Hurricane Mk.IIb fighter in 1:48 scale. The markings are applied in paint straight onto the surface of the model, so no glossy carrier film and no sharp outline is left on it, the kind that shows through under a matte clear coat with decals.
The Mk.IIb carried twelve 7.7 mm machine guns in the wing and was powered by a Merlin XX engine with a two-speed supercharger. Against the early Hurricanes it improved its performance at altitude and could carry external stores, so an attack machine with bombs under the wings grew out of it as well. The structure stayed mixed: a tube framework fuselage covered with fabric and an all-metal wing. It is exactly the fabric surfaces that cause the most trouble with decals, because they follow the ribbing faithfully and the carrier film breaks at the edges of the ribs.
Under a colored insignia apply white or light gray first, otherwise it will not cover over dark camouflage. Press the stencil down from the center toward the edge and seal the edge with a light pass of the base shade; the paint then has no way to creep under. Circular markings are sprayed ring by ring and always only once the previous coat has dried, otherwise the shades go muddy.
The cut is prepared for the Arma Hobby kit.
