This is a resin detail set that replaces the engine exhaust nozzle on the plastic kit of the JAS 39 Gripen fighter in the A version. The nozzle is cast in the open position with accurate definition of the petals inside and out, as seen on an aircraft standing on the ground. The set raises the fidelity of the tail of the model, which injection-molded plastic often simplifies.
The Saab JAS 39 Gripen is a Swedish single-engine multirole fighter with a delta wing and canard foreplanes. The A version is the single-seat machine of the first generation of the type. The aircraft is designed to carry out fighter, attack and reconnaissance tasks.
First wash the parts to remove any mold release agent and cut off the casting blocks. Bond the resin with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and sand with your airways protected. Paint the nozzle using metallic shades and transitions that bring out the heat stress; check the fit in the rear fuselage dry beforehand.
