The set of masks 1:48 Ki-15 Kamikaze National Insignias And Markings is for spraying the national insignia and markings of the Mitsubishi Ki-15 reconnaissance aircraft. Meant for the Fine Molds kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A sprayed insignia and an applied one can be told apart even in a photograph. A decal lies on the surface as a thin film, it breaks over rivets and on matte camouflage a glossy outline tends to be visible around it. Masking does away with that difference: the color arises directly on the skin, so it has the same texture and the same degree of sheen as the area around it. The target kit is Fine Molds.
The Ki-15 was a fast reconnaissance and liaison monoplane, laid out unusually cleanly for its day. The Kamikaze epithet refers to the most famous example of the whole series: a civilian machine that in 1937 flew the route from Japan to London and got onto the front pages of the newspapers with it. The military versions then served over China and in the first months of the war in the Pacific. Japanese markings of the period tend to be simple in shape but exact in placing, so it pays to keep to the reference.
Modelers who have had enough of silvering decals, and everyone who builds matte Japanese camouflage. The package holds masking for painting the insignia and markings, nothing more. The method can also be combined so that you spray the insignia and add the small lettering as decals.
