Landing gear bay masks for models of the Japanese J7W1 Shinden prototype in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Shinden was a Japanese fighter prototype with an unusual layout: a small canard surface at the front, the main wing right at the back and a pusher propeller mounted at the end of the fuselage. It flew at the very end of the Second World War and never reached series production, yet it is one of the favorite subjects of plastic modeling precisely because of its shape.
Masks shaped to the cutouts of the landing gear bays of a Shinden model in 1:48 scale. How many parts the set has and which kit it is tuned for are given in the manufacturer's instructions. With masks that follow the shape of an opening the tie to a particular kit is crucial, so check that in advance.
The surface of the model has to be clean, dry and degreased before they are applied. The bays are usually sprayed in their own shade first, then they are covered with the mask and only after that does the color of the surrounding surfaces come up. Press the edges of the mask down with a toothpick or a blunt stick, because that is exactly where paint creeps under. Spray in thin coats. Take the mask off shortly after the paint has dried, pulling it back over itself at a shallow angle; the longer it stays on the model, the more likely it is to tear the edge.
For modelers who build the Shinden in 1:48 scale and want a crisp transition between the color of the bays and their surroundings, without lengthy taping.
The model, the paints and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
