This set contains fine photo-etched parts intended for superdetailing the plastic model of the L-13 SE/SW Vivat powered glider in 1:48 scale. The etched sheet on its own does not build into an aircraft - it is an accessory that replaces and supplements selected plastic parts so that the finished model looks more faithful. The set is made by the Czech brand Brengun.
Photo-etched parts add the detail that is hard to mold in injected plastic - thin faces, stiffeners, controls and small fittings. Thanks to the minimal thickness of the metal they look more realistic in scale than the thicker plastic originals. The set is meant for modelers who want to take the quality of the basic L-13 Vivat kit further.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife on a hard surface and make the bends in an etch bender or against a ruler. They are glued with super glue (cyanoacrylate), and the gel version is handy for positioning. Before painting, degrease the metal and apply a primer for better adhesion.
The accessory is supplied as a photo-etched set on its own, without paints and glue. The basic model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
