A resin underwing gun pod for the model of the combat version L-39ZA Albatros in 1:48 scale from Quickboost (Aires' add-on line). The gun pod under the fuselage is exactly what sets the armed ZA version apart from the standard trainer Albatros — without it, the model simply does not look like a ZA. The resin casting offers sharper, finer detail than an injection mold can achieve. The set is designed for the Trumpeter 1:48 L-39ZA Albatros kit. This is not an airplane model — the kit itself is not included in the package.
The Aero L-39 Albatros is a Czechoslovak jet trainer and one of the most successful aircraft of its class in the world — thousands were built, and it has flown and still flies in dozens of countries. The L-39ZA is the combat version: it has a reinforced airframe, four underwing racks, and above all the gun pod under the fuselage, which turns the trainer into a light attack and reconnaissance aircraft. For Czech and Slovak modelers, it is a home subject par excellence — an aircraft designed, built and flown at home.
