An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Kovozavody Prostejov. The set is meant to be assembled and painted, and it captures the elegant shapes of this light sport and touring aircraft. The model is built from plastic parts complemented by clear cockpit parts and a decal sheet.
The L-40 Meta Sokol is a Czechoslovak all-metal light sport aircraft from the end of the 1950s. You will recognize it by its pronounced butterfly V-tail and retractable landing gear, which made it a handsome and aerodynamically clean machine for its time. It served for sport and recreational flying and became one of the iconic products of the Czechoslovak aviation industry.
This is a kit from a smaller maker, so count on careful cleanup of the parts and a dry fit before gluing. Use a thin cement for plastic and glue the clear cockpit parts only after the interior has been painted. A primer is recommended before spraying; on sport aircraft a glossy white or silver finish with colored trim comes out well. The cockpit frames are easy to mask and to paint by hand.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
