This set from Art Scale holds two finely cast Lewis Mk.III machine guns in 1:48 scale. It is not a model of an aircraft but a resin accessory that replaces the simplified plastic parts of the weapon and lifts the detail of the armament noticeably. The casting catches the cylindrical cooling shroud around the barrel, the body of the weapon and the pan magazine.
The Lewis Mk.III is the aircraft form of the British Lewis light machine gun. In the First World War and between the wars it was used as the observer's flexible weapon or on the defensive mounts of aircraft. Its marks are the large cylindrical cooling cover and the pan magazine on top.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, separate them carefully from the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Sand with respiratory protection. For realistic metal use a dark steel with a fine dry-brush and a light wash into the hollows.
The set holds the resin parts of the weapons only. Glue, paints and the model are not included in the package.
