The Eduard 1:48 Lockheed-Martin F-35B seatbelts STEEL are colored photo-etched steel harness belts for 1:48 scale. It is a small accessory for a cockpit, not a model of the aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
The simplest way to take a model's cockpit a step further. The set from the Czech maker Eduard holds harness belts cut from color-printed steel sheet in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft kit: the belts are glued into a model that you buy separately.
The strap system of a modern combat aircraft is more intricate than on machines of the first half of the last century: it combines shoulder and lap straps with a central buckle and with features tied directly to the seat. In a kit it tends to be suggested only as shallow relief, or to be missing altogether. Photo-etched belts give a strap the real flat thickness of webbing and, above all, a natural shape; the steel used in this range is springier than brass and holds its position once bent, so a strap can fall freely over the edge of the seat.
Separate the belts with a scalpel on a hard surface; never twist them off. Shape them gradually around rounded tweezers or a toothpick, making the bend in several steps. They are glued with a minute drop of cyanoacrylate glue applied with a pointed tool, or spot-glued with clear varnish, which gives time to line them up. Finish the seat first, painting and weathering included, and glue the belts in right at the end. Do not overspray the color printing; apply matte varnish only to the surrounding plastic. Sand the suggested plastic straps away flush beforehand.
This is an accessory set, not a standalone model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
