The set from the Eduard SPACE range combines color three-dimensional interior elements printed on backing decal paper with photo-etched steel seat belts. It serves to detail the cockpit of a Lockheed P-38G Lightning model in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory for a plastic model. The combination of raised relief and metal belts gives the cockpit depth as well as realistic texture.
The Lockheed P-38 Lightning was an American twin-boom fighter with two Allison engines. The P-38G version belonged to early and middle production and was used in several theaters of the Second World War.
The elements have no adhesive layer of their own. With a sponge and detergent, moisten only the backing paper, lift the element off with tweezers and lay it on a thin layer of white PVA glue; the manufacturer does not recommend cyanoacrylate glue. Do not use a decal softener, because its chemicals will attack the printed element. Shape the steel belts with tweezers into a natural sag. Painting the interior falls away; a matte varnish to unify it is enough.
This is an accessory, not a model on its own. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
