This accessory is NOT an aircraft kit but a resin detail set. It contains the supply drop containers that on the Lysander were hung on the racks under the stub wings. The set is meant to extend a model of the British Westland Lysander in 1:48 scale, and it can be used on other Royal Air Force and Fleet Air Arm aircraft models as well; the designation names the Airfix kit as the target.
Supply containers were dropped by parachute and served to supply isolated units and to support resistance groups. They were used in practically every theater of the Second World War, in Europe, Africa and Asia. Thanks to its outstanding takeoff and landing qualities the Lysander was among the typical carriers of these loads and of clandestine operations.
First wash the mold release agent off the castings, separate the casting blocks carefully and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Lay down a primer before painting; an airbrush followed by bringing out the detail with washes and pigments works well.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
