1:48 Mask He-111 H-6 BASIC (ICM 48262)

1:48 Mask He-111 H-6 BASIC (New Ware)

This is a masking set, not a model. It contains pre-cut (die-cut) self-adhesive masks in fine kabuki tape that fit the extensive glazing and the other parts of the Heinkel He 111 H-6 model in 1:48 scale exactly. The BASIC level is the entry version of the New Ware line and concentrates on the outer faces of the glazing and the wheel masks. The richly glazed nose of the He 111 is among the most demanding things to mask, so ready-cut masks save a great deal of time here. The dimensions and shapes are based on the ICM 48262 kit.

The real subject

The Heinkel He 111 was a German twin-engine bomber of the Second World War, easily recognized by its glazed cockpit with its characteristic shape. The H-6 version was among the most widespread and was used in a number of theaters. Its segmented glazing makes the model an effective but demanding piece to finish.

Use

• Apply the masks to clean glazing before spraying the frames.
• Kabuki tape follows the individual windows of the glazed nose.
• The wheel masks give a sharp transition between rim and tire.
• Lift the masks off carefully once the paint has dried.

Who the set is for

• Modelers put off by masking extensive glazing by hand.
• Builders looking for fast and accurate masking.
• Anyone interested in German Second World War equipment.

The set does not contain paints, glue or the model. It is an aid for painting.
