The mask set in the ADVANCED form is a higher grade above the basic extent. The contents are a self-adhesive masking film with precisely cut shapes for the parts of the Su-30MKK model. It is not a kit but an accessory used when painting.

Which grade to choose

The basic form covers the essentials around the glazing and the wheels. The ADVANCED form goes further and saves work on surfaces you would otherwise have to handle with tape or a decal. The highest grade then has a wider reach still. The difference shows mainly in the number of small cutouts that someone has already cut out accurately for you. The exact contents of a particular level are not stated here.

How to spray over a mask

• First spray a thin sealing coat of the base color around the edge of the mask; it closes the microscopic gaps under the film.
• Lay the target shade on in two or three passes, as a heavy coat breaks at the edge of the mask.
• Hold the airbrush square to the surface; an angled stream drives paint under the edge.
• Cover the remaining surfaces of the model with soft masking tape and paper, so that the New Ware mask does not have to be reapplied.
• Once the mask is off, run a finger along the edge and knock any unevenness back with fine, high-grit abrasive paper.

Who the set is for

It suits a modeler who wants to be finished after spraying with no touching up by brush, but does not need the very widest extent of masks. It is a reasonable compromise between the extent of the set and the work saved.
