A replacement Martin-Baker Mk.9 ejection seat with belts in 1:48 scale, one piece recommended for the Harrier GR.1/GR.3 kit from Kinetic.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Harrier GR.1 and GR.3 were first-generation British attack aircraft capable of vertical takeoff and landing. The pilot sat in a Martin-Baker Mk.9 ejection seat, which is the most conspicuous element of the whole cockpit when the canopy is open. It is exactly what a viewer focuses on before anything else.
The package holds one seat with belts in 1:48 scale, shaped for the Harrier GR.1/GR.3 kit from Kinetic. The belts are what kit seats most often lack: without them a cockpit looks empty and severely geometric, with them it gains the softness and irregularity of real equipment.
Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder off. Choose the glue according to the material of the part; with anything that is not polystyrene, count on cyanoacrylate. Wash and degrease the seat before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface.
Try the seat in the cockpit dry first, and if there are seating lugs from the kit, remove them rather than sanding the part itself. The structure will stand out with a dark glaze in the recesses and a light drybrush along the edges. Set the belts so that they hang loosely over the edge of the cushion; an asymmetric arrangement looks more faithful than a mirrored, tidy one.
The set suits anyone building a Harrier with the canopy open who wants it to stand up to a close look.
The package holds only the seat with belts. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
