A photo-etched metal set in 1:48 scale aimed at the exterior details of a model of the McDonnell F3H-2M Demon carrier fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
The McDonnell F3H Demon was a single-engine carrier fighter of the US Navy from the 1950s. It had a swept wing, a single-seat cockpit and a tall slender fuselage that gave it an unmistakable silhouette on the flight deck. The F3H-2M version was the fighter variant armed with guided missiles. A model of this aircraft has broad smooth surfaces on which every fine external feature tells.
According to the name this is a set of photo-etched metal parts. The name also makes clear that the set deals with the outside of the aircraft, that is with the surface features of the airframe, and not with the equipment of the cockpit. The elements are held in a carrier fret and are separated from it before use. The exact contents of the fret and the placement of the individual parts are given in the instructions supplied with the set.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a firm surface; twisting them will warp the sheet. Make the bends along the marked grooves and hold the part along the whole length of the bend. Use a small amount of cyanoacrylate glue to join them. Wash and degrease the metal before painting and go over it with a thin coat of primer, otherwise the paint holds badly on the smooth surface.
The set suits modelers who are building the aircraft with open or clearly visible exterior details and want them in the correct thickness for the scale. The kit itself, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
