Pre-cut self-adhesive stencils for models of the One-oh-nine in the Me-109 F/G versions. They are used during painting to set the ailerons, the elevator and the rudder apart from the rest of the surfaces, so that they do not disappear into a uniform finish on the finished machine.
The F series, nicknamed Friedrich, brought the aerodynamically cleanest form of the whole type. Rounded wing tips, a cantilever horizontal tail with no struts and a retractable tail wheel moved the performance markedly forward. The following Gustav received the stronger Daimler-Benz DB 605 powerplant and with it the typical bulges on the fuselage cover that modelers call the bumps. The G version precisely became the most numerously built form of the One-oh-nine of all and served to the last weeks of the war on every front.
Mix the shade for accentuation from the color of the base darkened with a drop of black or brown; a foreign tone would not take hold in the overall scheme. Spray in short bursts and rather a weaker effect that is visible only in a view from the side. On a mottled camouflage scheme, do the accentuation before you lay the patches on, so that the two layers do not disturb each other and the shadow stays legible under the irregular pattern.
