A vacuum-formed cockpit canopy for the Me P1103 in 1:48 scale is an accessory to a kit you have already bought, not an airplane model. The thin clear molding replaces the heavier cockpit from the box and offers a markedly better view into the interior.

An accessory from the Czech maker Brengun for the kit of the Me P1103 rocket fighter in 1:48 scale. The package holds a clear cockpit canopy drawn under vacuum from thin film; the set holds no other parts of a model and serves as a replacement for the part you already have in the kit.
An injected clear part has to have a certain wall thickness because of the mold, and in 1:48 scale that corresponds to glass several centimeters thick. The result is a distorted view, milky edges and a visibly thick edge where the canopy seats on the fuselage. A vacuum-formed molding is thinner and cleaner by an order of magnitude, so the interior you worked on is finally visible. At the same time it is more easily adapted to an open position, because its edge does not look coarse.
The molding is not cut from the backing with scissors: go over the outline with a thin spirit marker, cut it out roughly leaving a margin and sand the rest on fine abrasive paper laid on a flat board. Sand the seating edge with a circular motion and keep trying the seating on the fuselage; material has to be taken off in tenths of a millimeter. It is glued with clear dispersion glue for canopies or with thin super glue with an activator applied away from the visible surface. Small scratches can be removed by polishing with a fine paste, and dipping in clear gloss varnish will even out a matte surface. Before spraying the frames, use masking templates or narrow tape.
The accessory is supplied without a kit, without glue and without paints.
