This item is not a kit of an aircraft but a resin accessory from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. It replaces the propeller on a kit of the Messerschmitt Bf 109G-10 in 1:48 scale. The propeller is one of the most conspicuous features on a finished model and at the same time the part on which the thickness of the blades and the shape of their profile show most — it is exactly here that a casting has the greatest lead over an injection-molded part. The set is fitted into a kit already bought.
The Bf 109G-10 was a late production version of the German single-seat fighter from the end of the Second World War. From the older machines of the G series it differed in a powerplant of a higher power rating, in altered covers on the upper part of the forward fuselage and as a rule in a canopy with large undivided areas. With the change of engine went a change of propeller, whose blades had a different planform from the earlier versions — which is why the replacement part earns its place on exactly this variant and not on the G series in general.
Wash the casting in lukewarm water with detergent and only then work with it. Cut the casting block off with a fine saw and sand the surface carefully — the propeller blades are thin and resin is brittle, so do not hold them by the tips. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a primer before painting. If you want to leave the propeller free to turn, work out the mounting of the shaft before gluing the spinner. Finally, with propellers a fine wearing of the leading edges comes in useful, which suggests paint rubbed away.
This is an accessory, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
