An add-on for the cockpit of the Messerschmitt Bf-109K-4 in 1:48 scale from Eduard, cut for its own Weekend edition, with pre-colored photo-etched parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
The add-on is aimed at modelers who are building the Bf-109K-4 from the simpler boxing and want to give it an interior at the level of the more demanding editions. Weekend is Eduard's simplified line of kits with no photo-etch and no masks in the package; that is exactly why the brand offers separate sets for it that supply the missing detail. The parts are pre-colored, so they can be used without painting.
The Bf 109K-4 was the last series-built version of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter. It reached service in the autumn of 1944 and carried a Daimler-Benz engine of the 605 series in a late version, an aerodynamically cleaned-up fuselage and a 30 mm engine cannon. The recognition marks of the K version are the repositioned nose wheel legs with bulged covers, a simpler gun fairing and a modified propeller.
Deal with the interior before you glue the fuselage halves together. Glue the pre-colored photo-etched parts onto finished painted plastic, never onto paint that has not dried. Dose the super glue in really small drops, otherwise its fumes may fog the colored surface. Thanks to the hinged canopy, the side of the Bf 109 cockpit is clearly visible on display, so it pays to finish the side panels as well and not only the instrument panel. After gluing, even out the gloss of the whole interior with flat varnish.
