This is an aftermarket detail set, not an airplane model. The box contains 3D-printed replicas of the German MG 81J aircraft machine gun in left (2 pieces) and right (2 pieces) form, that is 4 parts in total in 1:48 scale. The set replaces the coarse or missing machine guns from a plastic kit with faithfully rendered parts carrying fine detail.
The MG 81 was a German 7.92 mm aircraft machine gun used above all as defensive armament on bombers and reconnaissance aircraft. The J version was intended for flexible gunner's mounts. Faithful machine guns markedly lift the realism of open gun positions and cockpits.
Carefully separate the fine parts from the print supports and clean them up. Super glue is recommended for bonding. Before fitting them, spray the parts with primer and a metal color; glue the barrels and the fine parts only at the end of the build so that they are not damaged.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
