This is NOT a standalone helicopter model but an extensive resin detail set in 1:48 scale from the manufacturer Black Dog. The big set brings together several groups of parts for the exterior and the equipment of a model of the heavy MH-53E Sea Dragon helicopter. It is intended for MH-53E Sea Dragon models.
The MH-53E Sea Dragon is a heavy naval helicopter used above all for airborne mine countermeasures and for carrying cargo. The bulky side tanks and the powerful powerplant are characteristic; it is one of the largest helicopters of Western manufacture and carries extensive specialized equipment.
First wash the large number of resin parts in lukewarm soapy water on account of the mold release residue. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a knife and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Sort the parts out in advance; paint the interior and the small parts in groups before the final assembly and leave the patina to washes and pigments at the end.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted; it is an accessory, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
