Steel restraint belts 1:48 Mi-24A seatbelts STEEL for the crew seats. Photo-etch printed in color that keeps its shape once bent.
Responsibility details are not available.
The narrowest of Eduard's sets for this helicopter deals with a single thing, but the most conspicuous one: the harnesses on the seats of the pilot and the operator. Steel sheet behaves differently from brass. It will take a bend into a sharp angle, it holds it and does not spring back, so the belt can be formed into a naturally hanging fold. The printing is applied in production, so there is no need to paint it.
An empty seat without harnesses is one of the few details that even a layman notices in an uncovered cockpit. On an attack helicopter, where the glazing is generous and the inside is clearly visible, this difference tells more than on a fighter with a narrow canopy. The set thus offers a large visual gain for little work.
Paint the seats and let them dry, and only then seat the harnesses. Bend the buckles over the edge of a razor blade, let the longer ends fall over the edge of the seat pan and feel free to drop some of them all the way to the floor, as if the crew had laid them aside. Fix them in spots with cyanoacrylate glue applied with the tip of a pin.
The package is made up exclusively of photo-etched harnesses; the seats and the airframe are part of the kit.
Steel belts hold their shape once bent, so they can be sagged believably over the edge of a seat. It is precisely that slight sag that sets restraint belts apart from a flat part.
