A resin detail set from the Aires brand that replaces the landing gear bays on a model of the Soviet MiG-17F fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but an aftermarket accessory for more experienced modelers. The parts are precisely cast in resin and bring depth, crisp edges and a fine structure to the landing gear bays that plastic parts from the mold usually lack.
The MiG-17F was a Soviet subsonic fighter that followed the earlier MiG-15 with an aerodynamically improved wing and fuselage. The F version received an engine with an afterburner, which improved both its rate of climb and its performance. Its NATO code name was Fresco and a number of friendly air forces used it in large numbers around the world.
These are resin parts for the advanced. First wash them in warm soapy water to remove mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks with a saw and clean up the surfaces. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways when sanding resin: the dust is harmful. Try the fit of the bays dry before gluing.
