Etched steel seat belts for a model of the MiG-17F aircraft in 1:48 scale. They replace the belts merely suggested on the seat from the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The MiG-17F is a Soviet single-engine jet fighter of the 1950s. The cockpit is cramped and the seat takes up most of the space in it, so the seat belts are among the first things visible with the canopy open. Plastic kits, however, usually reproduce them only as raised relief on the seat.
Etched seat belts for a model of the MiG-17F in 1:48 scale. The STEEL rendering means an etch in steel: it holds a shape better than softer materials, so you can drape a belt believably over the edge of the seat or let it hang free and it will not straighten out again. The extent of the fret and the arrangement of the individual parts are given by the manufacturer in the instructions.
Cut the parts from the fret with a sharp blade on a hard surface rather than with scissors, because twisting deforms a part. Sand the remains of the tabs away with a fine file. Shape the belts with tweezers in small steps and try them on the seat as you go. Glue them with super glue applied in a minute amount, best with the tip of a toothpick. Before painting, wash and degrease the etch and apply a thin base coat; without it paint does not hold on smooth metal. The buckles come out when you pick them out after painting with a dark line and a light pass of a dry brush.
The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
