The M1129 Stryker Mortar Carrier in 1:35 scale from Trumpeter: a plastic kit of the American wheeled carrier for a 120 mm mortar.
Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of the American M1129 Stryker wheeled armored vehicle in the mortar carrier version with a 120 mm mortar. The model in 1:35 scale offers a detailed hull, eight wheels with rubber tires, a well worked-out mortar compartment and photo-etched parts; the exact contents follow the particular edition.
The M1129 is the mortar version of the Stryker family, which the US Army derived from the Canadian LAV III, itself based on the Swiss Mowag Piranha chassis. It carries a heavy 120 mm mortar which, unlike the older variant, can be fired directly from the vehicle without having to be dismounted onto the ground. The vehicle proved itself in service at the beginning of the 21st century as rapid fire support for infantry. Thanks to its wheeled chassis the M1129 moved quickly on paved roads and kept pace with the other vehicles of a Stryker brigade.
Finish and paint the interior with the mortar before you close the hull; leave the wheels and the tires separate for painting. Glue the plastic with thin cement and the photo-etched covers with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a primer and spray with an airbrush; a single-color desert or green finish is brought to life by a wash in the panels and dust pigments on the chassis and the lower hull. All eight wheels have to stand level so that the model does not sit crooked; paint the tires separately in matte black with a hint of dust.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
