An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:48 scale from AMMO of Mig Jimenez. It is a new, richly equipped tooling: besides the plastic it holds photo-etched parts, painting masks, 3D printed details (among others an ejection seat, a ladder and further elements) and 3D instrument panels. The USSR / GDR release makes it possible to build a Soviet MiG-17F or the license-built Polish Lim-5 in the service of the East German Air Force.
The MiG-17 was a Soviet subsonic first-generation jet fighter that followed on in development from the famous MiG-15 with a reworked, more sharply swept wing. The MiG-17F version received an engine with an afterburner, which improved both its rate of climb and its performance. The aircraft was produced in enormous numbers and under license in further countries as well, in Poland under the designation Lim-5, and it served with a number of friendly armed forces all over the world.
Glue the parts with a thin modeling cement for plastic; glue the 3D printed and photo-etched details with super glue and clean them up before gluing. Mask the glazing with the templates supplied. Apply a primer before painting. Spray natural metal surfaces with metallic paints over a smooth glossy base, and camouflaged machines with an airbrush with fine panel shading. Apply the decals over a gloss clear coat and seal them with a matte overcoat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
