This is a decal set for a MiG-21 model in 1:48 scale, specifically the second part of a multi-part Polish series from the manufacturer Model Maker. There are no plastic or resin parts in the package, only a sheet of markings that you transfer onto a finished model. Check the scope of the sheet against the illustration on the packaging.
The decals enclosed with kits tend to be thicker, break less easily over edges and, after years in a box, yellow or crack. A separate sheet from a specialist manufacturer solves that and also opens up markings that were not in the original box. On a type like the MiG-21, which went through several versions and several camouflage standards in Polish service, that is a substantial difference between a model out of the box and a model with a hand of its own.
The basis is a gloss intermediate coat over perfectly dry paint. Cut the decal out as closely as possible, so no visible frame is left behind it. Soak it briefly, slide it onto a dampened area and adjust the position while it is wet. Blot the surplus water away with a paper tissue laid on lightly from above, not by rubbing. Over engraved lines use a softener and do not touch the decal for several hours, because at that moment it is soft and wrinkles easily. Once everything is dry, the matte or semi-matte overcoat follows and evens the surface out.
It is supplied as a stand-alone decal sheet, without a kit, paints and varnishes.
