A set of cast resin wheels intended to replace the plastic landing gear wheels on a model of the Soviet MiG-21F fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit but a detail accessory for more experienced modelers. Resin holds a sharper relief than injected plastic, so the tread pattern of the tire and the hubs look more convincing.
The set usually contains the main wheels and the nose wheel with realistically rendered hubs and tread, possibly with a hint of load on them (a slightly flattened contact patch). The wheels are fitted straight in place of the plastic parts and are one of the fastest ways to make a model more accurate.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with a little dish soap to remove the mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a knife, never break them off. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). When sanding, use respiratory protection, because resin dust must not be inhaled.
This is an add-on set, not a model. The base kit, glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
