This set from Quinta Studio brings colored 3D printed interior decals on decal paper. They are applied with water like ordinary decals, yet they carry relief and pre-printed color, so the flight deck and the instruments of the helicopter gain depth and a realistic look with no painting. It is not a model but an accessory for models of the Mil Mi-17, that is the export version of the Mi-8MT, in 1:48 scale.
Mi-17 is the export designation of the Soviet, and later Russian, medium transport and multi-purpose helicopter derived from the Mi-8 and Mi-8MT series. The machine has spread all over the world in transport, assault and combat roles, and its roomy cabin offers a large area for detailed rendering.
Clean and degrease the surface, dip the decal briefly in water, slide it into place and press it gently, then soak up the surplus water. A decal softener has no place here, as it would attack the printed resin. The set shows to best effect on a build with a glazed or open flight deck.
