A set of cast resin wheels from the Ukrainian brand Armory in 1:48 scale for the Soviet Mil Mi-24 attack helicopter. The tires are cast as weighted: they have a contact patch and a slightly bulged sidewall, as if the weight of the machine were standing on the landing gear. It is not a helicopter kit but a replacement part - the wheels from the original kit are exchanged for the castings.
The Mi-24 is an unusual machine in that it joined two jobs that elsewhere are done by two types: it is an attack helicopter with an armored cockpit and heavy armament, and at the same time it can carry a whole squad in its cargo compartment. Soviet crews nicknamed it the crocodile because of the long sloped shape of its nose section. It is exactly that combination of armor, weapons, fuel and eight men in the cabin that makes the Mi-24 a heavy machine - and the weight shows most on the tires of a helicopter at rest, which settle noticeably.
For more experienced helicopter modelers who are bothered by perfectly round plastic wheels on a standing model. The helicopter, the glue and the paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
