A set of resin wheels from Armory for the Mil Mi-8 transport helicopter, or rather its upgraded Mi-17 line, in 1:48 scale. The resin castings offer finer drawing of the hubs, the valve stems and the tire sidewalls than the split parts of an ordinary kit allow, and they are a simple way to lift a visible area of the model - the wheeled landing gear of the Mi-8 is impossible to miss.
The Mil Mi-8 is a Soviet medium transport helicopter, one of the most widespread helicopters in the world, built from the 1960s in thousands of examples and operated by dozens of countries including Czechoslovakia. The export and upgraded machines carry the designation Mi-17. The helicopter uses fixed tricycle landing gear: two main wheels along the sides of the fuselage and a twin wheel at the nose. The wide range of civil and military versions makes the Mi-8 a rewarding modeling subject.
First wash the castings in warm soapy water to remove any mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and sand the marks down with respiratory protection. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Paint the tires a very dark gray and the hubs according to the particular machine, and even the whole out with a fine wash and some dust.
This is a resin accessory - the helicopter kit itself is not included in the package.
