A resin detail accessory of the Quickboost brand from the maker Aires in 1:48 scale. This is not a helicopter model but a set of loaded ASO-2V dispensers for thermal decoy flares, with which Mil Mi-8MT and Mi-17 helicopters were equipped for protection against guided missiles. The accessory raises the fidelity of a finished model.
The Mil Mi-8MT and its export version Mi-17 are Soviet, and later Russian, utility transport helicopters. Among their equipment they carried ASO-2V cassette dispensers firing infrared decoy flares, which were meant to draw heat-seeking missiles away from the engines of the machine.
Wash the parts free of mold release residue, separate the casting blocks carefully and glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. The detail comes out after a primer coat and shading.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
