The Mitsubishi A6M3 is a later form of the Japanese carrier fighter known as the Zero. The model 32 version had its wingtips shortened and squared off, so it was recognizable at first glance; with the model 22 version the designers went back to rounded tips and greater range. Both versions flew in the fighting over the southwest Pacific.
