The set holds 3D-printed resin replicas of the MXU-648 carried travel pod in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane kit but an aftermarket accessory, which you hang on the pylon of an already built model.

The real subject

The MXU-648 Travel Pod is a baggage pod in the shape of a drop tank, which is hung on the pylon of a combat aircraft. It serves to carry the crew's personal belongings, tools and spare parts on transits to other bases, when the aircraft has no ordinary cargo space.

Use and building tips

• Wash the parts clean of uncured print resin residue and separate them from the print supports.
• Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate).
• Do the sanding with respiratory protection, best wet.
• The pod tends to be painted in the color of the aircraft or in a strongly contrasting one, so prime it and bring out the panel lines.
