Armory: a bomb rack with four OFAB-100-120 bombs 1:48 — a resin set of aircraft armament for models of Soviet and Russian jet aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin set of aircraft armament from the manufacturer Armory in 1:48 scale: a multiple ejector bomb rack completed by four OFAB-100-120 bombs. This is not a standalone model but an add-on with which you arm a model of a Soviet or Russian jet aircraft and bring its stores to life — empty pylons are a common compromise of kits of combat aircraft.
The OFAB-100-120 is a Soviet high-explosive fragmentation aircraft bomb of the hundred-kilogram class, used from the days of the Cold War on a wide range of frontal aviation aircraft. Multiple racks made it possible to carry several bombs on one pylon and thus markedly raise the number of weapons under a single machine — in period photographs fully loaded racks are the typical picture of preparation for a combat sortie.
Wash the resin parts free of mold release agent, cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw and sand the marks down with respiratory protection. Bond the assembly with super glue and prime it before painting. Choose the color finish of the bombs and the rack according to period photographs of the particular aircraft and period; a fine wash will bring out the mold lines and the lugs. Check compatibility with the pylons of your particular kit with a dry run.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and is not a standalone model — it is made to be hung under a model of an aircraft in 1:48 scale. Check compatibility with your particular kit before building.
