Omask 1:48 - a masking set for a model of the Japanese jet aircraft Nakajima Shisei Kikka. The stencils are pre-cut to the shape of the parts of the Fine Molds kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
Pre-cut masking stencils prepared to measure for a model of the Japanese jet machine Kikka from Fine Molds in 1:48. The set rids the modeler of the most tiresome part of the build, that is cutting strips of adhesive tape with a knife directly on the part. The edges come out straight and repeatable, which with an aircraft with angular glazing shows immediately.
The word Kikka means orange blossom, and the designation Shisei refers to the trial, prototype series. The machine was powered by a pair of small Ne-20 jet engines slung under the wings, and the Imperial Japanese Navy counted on it as a fast strike means for the final defense of the islands. The designers gave it folding wings, so that it could be hidden in tunnels and caves out of reach of air raids. It first took off on 7 August 1945 from Kisarazu, and a second attempt ended in damage during an aborted take-off. The surrender came before it entered service.
Before you stick the stencil on, degrease the surface and make sure the last coat of varnish is completely dry. Spray the interior shade of the cockpit first and let it dry; only then comes the outer green. A light overspray of the base color along the edge seals the mask underneath, and any leaks will then not show on the final coat.
The aircraft itself and the paints for it are sold separately.
