A detail cockpit set for the P-400 Airacobra fighter in 1:48 scale from Aires. The resin accessory replaces the basic cockpit interior from a plastic kit with a faithfully detailed assembly: a cockpit tub, an instrument panel, side consoles with the characteristic car-type doors, a seat and the control levers.
The P-400 was the export version of the American Bell P-39 Airacobra fighter. Compared with the P-39 it had a 20 mm cannon installed in the nose instead of the large-caliber cannon. The aircraft served in the Second World War in the South Pacific among other places, where it was used above all as a fighter-bomber. The Airacobra had an unusual layout with the engine placed behind the pilot.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks carefully and bond with super glue. The interior comes into its own once painted, with the edges picked out dry and a gentle wash applied. Because of the side entry into the cockpit the interior is clearly visible, so careful painting pays off.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not an airplane model. The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
