A resin set of replacement main landing gear wheels from RESArm for a model of the American Republic P-47 Thunderbolt fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane model but an accessory. The sturdy tires are cast with a flat spot where they meet the ground, imitating the load this heavy machine puts on them.
The P-47 Thunderbolt was among the largest and heaviest single-engine fighters of the Second World War. It excelled both as an escort and as an attack aircraft, and its weight made heavy demands on the landing gear.
Wash the mold release agent off the wheels, separate the casting blocks and clean up the contact face. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Orient the flat spot straight down. Paint the tire and the hub separately and bring out the tread with a wash.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
