Decals for three captured P-51B and P-51C Mustangs in German, Japanese and Chinese hands.
Responsibility details are not available.
The third sheet in the Mustang series is devoted to machines that fell into enemy hands and flew on under foreign markings. It offers three sets of markings and each of them has a story of its own: two machines ended up in Japanese and Chinese settings, one reached Germany.
Wanderzirkus Rosarius, Rosarius's traveling circus, was a unit that collected captured Allied aircraft, repaired them and toured the fighter units with demonstrations, so that pilots could look their opponent over from close up and learn its weaknesses. Captured American fighters tended to be repainted in German colors with prominent identification stripes, so that their own anti-aircraft defenses would not shoot them down. On the other side of the world Japanese and Chinese airmen came up against the same type and also tried it out in flight.
The decals are printed for 1:48 scale and a finished Mustang kit is assumed; this is an accessory to a model that the builder chooses.
