This resin add-on set from the Eduard Brassin line replaces the plastic landing gear wheels supplied in the base kit of the P-51B/C Mustang fighter in 1:48 scale. The wheels carry a realistically rendered diamond tread and crisp detail on the rims, which are hard to achieve on injection-molded parts. Masks for painting the tires and rims cleanly are usually included as well.
It is a detail accessory, not an aircraft model. It improves the look of the main landing gear, and the tires can also be given a slight flat spot for the impression of a standing machine under load.
Wash the mold release residue off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint the tires in a matte dark gray to blackish gray and set the rims apart; the enclosed masks make the sharp transition between tire and rim easier.
The set is an accessory to a plastic model. The glue, the paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
