An injection-molded plastic kit of the famous American North American P-51D Mustang fighter in 1:48 scale from Hobby Boss. The Royal Air Force used the designation Mustang IV for this version. The package contains plastic parts with engraved surfaces, clear cockpit parts and decals. The model captures the characteristic late version with the bubble canopy and will stand out as a striking piece in any collection.
The P-51D was the most widespread version of the Mustang and one of the most successful fighters of the Second World War. Thanks to its powerful V12 engine and long range it escorted Allied bombers deep over enemy territory. The recognition features of the D version were the bubble canopy with its excellent view and six heavy machine guns in the wing. The Mustang saw action on most fronts and flew long after the war as well.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic and sand the seams. Assemble and paint the cockpit before closing up the fuselage. For the typical glossy bare metal surface of unpainted Mustangs, metallic paints work well; apply them over a smooth base and mix them before spraying. Bring out the panel lines with a fine wash and apply the decals over a gloss coat.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
