A cast figure of a pilot of the F-35 fighter in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Plusmodel. Present-day machines have smooth, closed shapes and without a figure by the cockpit their size is hard to judge in a photograph. The figure solves that problem and at the same time places the model in time, because the kit of a pilot today is unmistakable.
The F-35 is a single-engine multi-role fighter designed with the emphasis on reducing its radar signature. The pilots use a helmet with an integrated display, which replaces the classic head-up display and projects the information straight onto the visor. It is exactly this helmet that is the most striking mark of the kit and it cannot be missed on the figure.
Wash the figure in lukewarm water with detergent, cut the casting block off with a saw and glue it with cyanoacrylate. Do the helmet in a smooth light shade with gloss clear, darken the visor and add a fine highlight. The flight suit is semi-matte; set the harness and the fastenings apart with a contrasting tone. In 1:48 scale a grown figure works out at about three and a half centimeters, so only suggest all the detail.
The figure is supplied unpainted. Paints, glue and the model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
