The Israeli close-combat missile 1:48 Python III by AMMO of Mig Jimenez: external stores for models of fighters in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A weapon that in the nineteen-eighties won itself the reputation of one of the most effective close-combat missiles in the world. The set offers it as stores under the wing of a finished kit of a fighter aircraft.
The missile was developed by the Israeli arms maker Rafael as the successor to the earlier Shafrir type and it entered service at the end of the nineteen-seventies. Against its predecessors it brought two essential things: the ability to attack a target from any angle, that is, not only from behind into the hot exhaust of the engine, and markedly higher agility. This showed in full in 1982 over Lebanon, where Israeli machines shot down dozens of opponents and the ratio of successes drew attention all over the world. The weapon was then sold abroad and several countries took it into their own arsenals. Its recognition feature is the pairs of short control surfaces right behind the seeker head.
The small control surfaces are easily damaged during handling, so attach them only once the body is painted. Israeli missiles wore a predominantly white or light gray coat with a colored stripe, and training rounds tended to have conspicuous markings. The thin line around the seeker head is managed well by a fine brush or narrow masking tape.
The missiles are without paint; the aircraft and the modeling chemicals you buy separately.
