This is a detail resin set of the landing gear bays, not an airplane model. The set replaces the wheel bays from a plastic kit with a resin form with a faithful inner structure, ribbing and suggested lines. The installation usually calls for reworking the relevant openings on the kit, which is why the set is intended for more experienced modelers. It is made by Aires.
The North American RA-5C Vigilante was an American carrier-based supersonic machine used above all for reconnaissance from aircraft carriers. It was a large twin-engine aircraft with high-altitude reconnaissance equipment and roomy landing gear, whose bays are clearly apparent with the gear down. A faithful rendering of the bays therefore markedly raises the scale quality of a model.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut them from the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Rework the openings on the kit if necessary and clean up the edges; protect your airways when sanding resin and ventilate the space. The inside of the bays is brought to life by a base shade, a gentle wash into the recesses and dry highlighting of the edges.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not an airplane model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
