Xtradecal 1:48 RAF WWII Bomber Serial Letters and Numbers is a decal sheet in 1:48 scale with letters and numbers for the serial markings of British bombers of the Second World War.
Responsibility details are not available.
A sheet of waterslide decals from the British manufacturer Xtradecal in 1:48 scale. It contains individual letters and numbers from which the modeler puts together the serial marking of a Royal Air Force bomber of the Second World War period. Go by what the manufacturer gives on the packaging of the sheet and the instructions in the package.
Sets of individual letters and numbers have one fundamental advantage over ready-made schemes: you are not restricted to the machines the kit manufacturer chose. You put the serial marking together from your own source material, make up a missing character from a damaged sheet, or unify the typeface on a model where decals from two different sources have come together.
Working with small characters is a different discipline from large roundels. Cut every letter out with a sharp scalpel close to the edge of the print, so that no visible frame of carrier film is left once it is dry. Carry the characters with smooth-jawed tweezers and set them with a soft brush and not with the tip of the tweezers, as a small decal will break under a point. Draw the spacing out in pencil on the gloss varnish beforehand, or help yourself with a strip of masking tape as a guide line. Patience pays off: a crooked row of characters shows on a finished model at first glance.
This is a modeling accessory, a decal sheet. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
