1:48 Republic P-47D-30 Thunderbolt LooK from Eduard offers a finished instrument panel for a model of the late Thunderbolt in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory made for builders who want the cockpit settled in a moment and with the result assured. The instrument panel is 3D printed, the individual instruments have recessed dials and the color is part of the print. The most delicate part of the work on an interior, that is drawing the scales under a magnifier, thus falls away. The package is not a kit of the aircraft; it is a replacement part for a model you build yourself.
The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt was among the heaviest single-engine fighters of the Second World War. Behind its performance at altitude stood turbocharging, the ducting of which took up a large part of the fuselage and gave the aircraft its characteristically massive shape. The late machines of the D series were given a bubble canopy with a cut-down spine, which fundamentally improved the view to the rear. At the close of the war the Thunderbolt found its use mainly over the battlefield, where it drew on its tough structure and heavy onboard armament in attacks on ground targets.
Under a bubble canopy the interior is exceptionally visible, so it pays to match the shade of the cockpit with the panel before gluing it in. Pack the part so that it sits at the right height against the frame; if it is set too deep, the dials will be lost in shadow from behind. Keep the gloss of the instrument glass and matte down only the surrounding areas.
